Harry Major Machine and Tool Co was founded by Mr Harry Major in Michigan USA in 1962 primarily to service the extensive Detroit Automotive Industry. On the retirement of Mr Major in 1989, his son Mr H Curtis Major took over control of the company, which is now based in Clinton Township, MI USA.

Harry Major Machine and Tool Co purchased Freeman & Clark Engineering Ltd In December of 1996, a leading manufacturer of Industrial Washing Machines and Automated Systems based in Sandy, Bedfordshire UK founded by Alan Freeman and Eddie Clark in 1978.

HMM-US attained Q1 status with Ford Motor Company in January of 1997 and attained certification for ISO/QS 9000/TE in March of 1999. The name of our United Kingdom facility was changed to Harry Major Machine-UK in June of 1999. HMM-UK attained certification for ISO/QS 9000/TE in December of 1999 and Q1 status with Ford Motor Company in 2000.

HMM-US and HMM-UK are committed to managing their environmental impact and have both demonstrated sufficiently high standards to achieve ISO 14001 accreditation.
